Building on our T level success
Last February, we announced the fantastic news that the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education (the Institute) and the Department for Education had selected us as their provider of choice to deliver the Technical Qualification for the Education and Childcare T Level. Since this announcement, we have been working closely with Wave 1 providers who will be delivering this T Level from September 2020 to ensure a successful transition.
Following on from this, I am delighted to confirm that on 2nd October the Institute announced that we had won the contract to deliver a further 5 T Levels. These new T Levels are in Digital Business Services, Digital Support Services, Health, Healthcare Science and Science, all of which will be available for delivery by Wave 1 and 2 T Level providers from September 2021.
T Levels signify a big change in technical education as they will become one of the main choices for students post-16, alongside A levels and apprenticeships. It is fantastic to be at the forefront of delivering these exciting reforms – ensuring that the value of technical education is recognised, and learners gain well-respected qualifications that truly prepare them for success in the workplace or the next steps in their education.
NCFE is well-known for collaboratively developing high-quality sector led qualifications, designed by employers for employers. Helping the healthcare, health and science sectors through CACHE, to develop and maintain the skilled workforce that plays such a vital role in our society.
As we enter an important phase in the T Level timeline, with the first wave of delivery in September 2020, it is crucial that we all play our part in ensuring the success of T Levels. T Levels will soon become one of the main vehicles through which the next generation will be able to bring change to their lives, and the lives of others. At this time, it is essential that we support colleagues, learners and parents to improve their awareness and understanding of T Levels, how they will be delivered, and which future careers they can help to nurture. The Institute website offers a host of useful resources to help individuals gain a fuller understanding of T Levels and the value they bring.
We would like to thank all within the sector for their continued support – it has been invaluable in helping our organisation achieve this recent success. We look forward to continuing to work closely together in the coming years in achieving T Level success.
