Education and Childcare T Level Now Approved

We’re delighted to be able to announce that our T Level Technical Qualification in Education and Childcare has now been approved by the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education (the Institute) and Ofqual. The CACHE developed Technical Qualification will be one of the first to be available for delivered this September as part of the initial roll out of T Levels.

The level 3 programme will equip young people with the knowledge, skills and behaviours they need to enter skilled employment within the education and childcare sector, or to continue to study that technical subject at a higher level.

This is the first approval of the 6 T Level contracts that were awarded to NCFE and we are already well underway in our work on the Digital Business Services, Digital Support Services, Health, Healthcare Science and Science T Levels which will be available for delivery to the first cohort of learners from September 2021.

Julie Hyde, NCFE Executive Director Education & Training Strategy, said:

“This announcement comes at an especially challenging time for our sector, and one which highlights the integral role that educators and childcare practitioners play within our society. It is now more than ever that we see how essential it is that our future childcare workforce is equipped with the highly skilled practitioners it needs. We are therefore proud that this T Level will help create opportunities for learners to enter the workforce, and ensure that they have been trained to the highest of standards.

“NCFE’s involvement in the development of one of the first T Level Technical Qualification to be delivered to learners signifies another important milestone in our long history of supporting the sector with gold standard qualifications.”

David Gallagher, NCFE Chief Executive, commented;

“We are proud to be at the forefront of technical education, ensuring that the value of technical education is recognised and learners gain well-respected qualifications that truly prepare them for success.

“The 14 months of hard work undertaken for us to get to this stage has been a truly collaborative effort involving significant support from specialists and employers within the education and childcare sectors, as well as the FE sector at large.

“I’d like to thank each and every person who has played a part in helping us to achieve this milestone and thank the sector for their continuing support. We look forward to continuing to work with the sector in delivering success outcomes for the future cohorts of T Level learners.”
